ORIGIN Strategic Advisory Discuss an Opportunity

Capabilities

What we do

From insight to impact.

We connect strategy, capital, technology, infrastructure and opportunity with the local intelligence and execution required to get deals done.

Five capabilities

One capability,
applied five ways.

Each of the five below draws on the same underlying work: understanding what has to be true for an opportunity to succeed here, and then doing something about it.

Most engagements use more than one. Few use only one.

01

Strategic Advisory

Strategic advice for complex opportunities where market intelligence, local understanding and commercial judgment matter.

Most Indonesian opportunities do not fail on the numbers. They fail on assumptions that were never tested locally - about land, power, permitting sequence, partner capability or who actually has to agree. We pressure-test the commercial case, identify the constraints that will govern the outcome, and give a clear view of whether and how to proceed.

  • Opportunity assessment and commercial framing
  • Market, counterparty and competitive intelligence
  • Risk identification across regulatory, infrastructure and partner dimensions
  • Board and investment-committee support material

02

Indonesia Market Entry

Helping international companies understand the Indonesian market, identify the right pathway and build the local relationships required for execution.

Entering Indonesia is a sequence, not a decision. The entity structure, the ownership position, the licensing pathway and the first local relationship each constrain everything that follows. We help clients choose that sequence deliberately instead of discovering it late.

  • Entry-route and entity-structure options
  • Investment and licensing pathway mapping
  • Local partner identification and evaluation
  • Establishment, onboarding and first-phase commercial build-out

03

Deal Origination & Transactions

Identifying strategic opportunities, connecting counterparties and supporting transactions from initial opportunity through negotiation and execution.

A large share of Indonesian opportunity never reaches a formal process. It sits with asset owners, developers and groups who transact through relationships. We originate from that layer, qualify what is real, and bring it to clients in a form an investment committee can actually assess.

  • Proprietary opportunity origination and qualification
  • Counterparty introduction and relationship management
  • Commercial structuring and negotiation support
  • Coordination of technical, legal and financial advisers through diligence

04

Project & Infrastructure Advisory

Supporting complex infrastructure projects across power, digital infrastructure, utilities and industrial development.

Infrastructure projects are decided by their hard constraints - available power, grid position, land status, environmental process and the institutions that sit across each one. We work on those constraints directly, in the order they will actually bite.

  • Site, land and grid-position evaluation
  • Power requirement definition and utility interface
  • Permitting and environmental process sequencing
  • Development pathway and delivery-partner selection

05

Strategic Partnerships

Connecting capital, technology, operators, developers and local partners to create commercially aligned opportunities.

Partnerships in Indonesia fail when the parties are matched on intent but not on incentive. We construct the alignment deliberately: who contributes what, who controls what, who is exposed to what, and what happens when the plan changes.

  • Partner search, screening and reference work
  • Joint venture and shareholding structure design
  • Commercial term development and alignment of incentives
  • Governance, and the practical terms of working together

How we work

Strategy, access,
structure, execution.

The sequence matters more than any single step. Most opportunities that stall did not fail at one stage — they were never taken through the stages in order.

01 —

Strategy

We start with the commercial question, not the deck. What is the opportunity actually worth, what has to be true for it to work, and where does it break?

02 —

Access

Opportunities move through people. We identify the counterparties, operators, landholders, utilities and institutions that matter, and open the right conversations.

03 —

Structure

We shape the commercial pathway - the entity, the partnership, the sequence of approvals and the terms on which parties can realistically agree.

04 —

Execution

We stay with the transaction through negotiation, diligence and the practical work of getting it done, rather than handing over a recommendation.

How we are different

Advice is abundant here. Deliverability is not.

Consultants produce analysis. Banks run processes. Brokers make introductions. Each is useful, and each stops at a boundary. The work that actually moves an Indonesian opportunity — establishing the power position, confirming land status, sequencing the permitting, finding and referencing the partner, and holding the negotiation together — usually falls between those boundaries.

01

Strategy

A commercial view you can take to a board, with the constraints named.

02

Local intelligence

Understanding tested against practice, not assumed from documents.

03

Access

The counterparties, operators and institutions an opportunity depends on.

04

Commercial structuring

An entity, partnership and sequence that parties can realistically agree.

05

Execution

Staying with the transaction through negotiation and diligence.

Bring us a question

The most useful first conversation is usually a specific one: a site, a counterparty, a structure or a market you are trying to form a view on.
